ABCCM Non-Discrimination Policy

A portion of ABCCM’s Mission statement is, “we persevere to restore and/or maintain the dignity of every person…” which is at the heart of our compassion and concern for person, every neighbor, who comes through our doors. ABCCM is committed to maintaining a community which recognizes and values the inherent worth and dignity of every person; fosters tolerance, sensitivity, understanding, and mutual respect among its staff and volunteers; and encourages each individual to strive to reach his or her own potential. We do this through our Crisis Ministries, Jail Ministry, Medical Ministry, Homeless Ministries, and Veterans Employment, Training, and Housing Services through Veterans Services of the Carolinas.

ABCCM views, evaluates, and treats all persons in any Ministry related activity or circumstance in which they may be involved, solely as individuals on the basis of their own personal abilities, qualifications, and other relevant characteristics as participants in our volunteer driven services. The success of this intentional ministry depends on each person being offered choices and willing to take responsibility for their actions; be committed to respectful, civil language. This shared value is the basis for our compassion.

ABCCM is committed to not discrimination against any member of the community on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, age, national origin or ancestry, genetic information, marital status, parental status, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, disability, or status as a veteran. ABCCM will conduct its programs, services and activities consistent with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations and orders and in conformance with the procedures and limitations as set forth in ABCCM’s Equal Opportunity, Equal Access policy which provides specific contractual rights and remedies. Additionally, ABCCM promotes the full realization of equal employment opportunity for women, minorities, persons with disabilities and veterans through its hiring practices.

Any question of interpretation regarding this Nondiscrimination Policy Statement shall be referred to the ABCCM EEOC Compliance Officer for final determination.
