Faith and Understanding

Rose is a new volunteer who had worked with medical equipment sales and service earlier in her life.  She came to ABCCM Medical Clinic to volunteer as a way to not only fill some lonely time in her retirement but to give back in a way that she was comfortable; hopefully helping patients needing assistance with mobility issues.  She noticed the electric wheelchair in storage and brought her prayer of finding a recipient for these products to our morning prayer assembly.  Within a few days, her prayer was answered as a call from a Mission Hospital unit came inquiring if the clinic had an electric wheelchair for a paraplegic patient with heart issues. Rose excitedly began coordinating with caregivers at Community Care of Western NC Home Health nursing staff to revitalize the long ago donated vehicle.  New batteries were expensive and cost prohibitive for the patient’s family. Rose was able to negotiate getting the batteries donated by Community Care of Western NC.  It took a couple of weeks but finally the electric wheelchair was outfitted with new batteries and delivery transportation was arranged to the paraplegic’s home.  For Rose, her faith and understanding of the power of prayer was renewed through her service at ABCCM’s Medical Ministry.
