In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’                     Acts 20:35

Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry
"Serving One Another in the Name of Christ"

Asheville Buncombe Comunity Christian Ministry relies on a dedicated group of volunteers to provide unique services to our patients and families. Volunteers are a vital part of the ABCCM team, whether they are providing shelter to people living without a home, helping  families in a variety of ways, assisting in a crisis, or helping with office work, fund raising events, thrift store, community outreach, and other operational areas.

Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community while becoming involved in a caring, dynamic organization. Our volunteers are people of all ages and from all walks of life. There is no need for prior training or counseling experience – training will be provided before placement. The quality that our volunteers share is a compassionate nature and a desire to help further the mission of Asheville Buncombe Comunity Christian Ministry.

ABCCM creates opportunties for volunteers from our churches and community to be a good neighbors by providing basic necessities with responsible choices. We help change lives through food, heat, medicine, jobs and housing.

ABCCM volunteers often say that they get back far more than they give – that their lives are forever changed by walking with others in a crisis.

Your neighbors are facing difficult choices between food, heat, medical care, jobs and housing. Last year 2,500 volunteers from 250+ congregations helped over 30,000 men, women and children though:

Crisis Ministries, Jail Ministry, Women and Children's Shelter Ministry, The Veterans Restoration Quarters and Medical Ministry.
