Heating Assistance Help - CIP

Persons are welcome to apply for heating assistance when they have a final notice or are out of oil, etc.  However, funds from the Crisis Intervention Program (CIP) will only be used when the temperature is 32 degrees or below AND someone in the household's life will be threatened due to a verifiable medical condition, being elderly, or a child under age 6 AND there are no other funds available to pay the bill.  One of the three criteria listed above must be met.

Documents to bring for application: Final notice bill for electric or gas or measured number of inches of oil in tank,  medical statement from a doctor stating the medical condition and that life will be threatened by the temperature, Social security cards for all household members, and a picture ID for the head of household.
