Story of the month For Donation Center/Thrift Store
Alph Stallings is a special volunteer. He is a former school teacher and comes in once a week to pack boxes of dishes and pots and pans to be given away through the crisis ministry. In spite of his eighty-something years he is faithful no matter the weather. He braves the cold warehouse even to getting down on his hands and knees on the concrete floor packing boxes. That is something the younger ones of us cannot do.
Alph puts little notes in each box saying “God loves you and so do I” and things to that effect. The only time he misses “work” is when he goes on a mission trip to the gulf with his church.
Alph’s servant heart and humble demeanor is a witness to staff and other volunteers alike.
